Training on involvement of representatives of civil society affected by tuberculosis in research activities

Within the framework of the project "Enhancing the meaningful participation of civil society in the reduction of the burden of TB in Kazakhstan" a training course "Involving representatives of civil society affected by tuberculosis in conducting research activities" was held on May 12, 2016 in Almaty.

The goal of the event is to involve civil society from high-risk groups affected by TB in carrying out activities to identify and analyze existing barriers to accessing quality services in healthcare and social protection organizations in Kazakhstan.

Objectives of the training: to raise awareness of representatives of civil society affected by the TB epidemic on the outpatient model of providing care; to provide information on the list of services for the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The result of the training was the development of a questionnaire for vulnerable groups on access to diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis.

Presentations were made on the theme: epidemiological situation, detection and diagnosis of TB in the Republic of Kazakhstan (deputy director of NCTT RK M. Adenov), community advocacy (community worker Z. Ruzhnikova), discussions, work in groups.
