Training for the National Advisory Board of PLHIV community in Kazakhstan

On February 19, 2015 in Almaty, the Central Asian Association of People Living with HIV hosted the training on expanding of access to ART and treatment of hepatitis C. Among participants were members of the Country Advisory Council PLHIV community in Kazakhstan.

Presentations were made by the  RAC clinical department specialist Kipshakbayev R., who spoke about the problems of access to diagnostics and treatment of people living with HIV,  mechanism of procurement of ARV and registration of new medicines in the country.

Mr. Biryukov S., director of public fund «Agep»,  made presentation on the epidemiological situation for hepatitis C in Kazakhstan, with common genotypes, types of diagnistics and treatment protocols.

Information about intellectual property and access to treatment was shared by the international expert Mr. Golovin S. - Senior Advocacy specialist of International Treatment Preparedness Coalition (ITPCru) Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Discussion of the problems of expansion of access to ART will be continued at the round table on February 20, 2015, at 10.30 in Almaty Atakent Park Hotel.
